CASE IH at SIMA 2009
13/02/09

New tractor series, a pan-European competition for young farmers and a special Precision Farming showpiece are at the centre of the information on offer at the SIMA show in Paris.

Case Puma 225 CVX

CASE IH presents an array of innovations at SIMA 2009, including the new Puma CVX tractor series and the new range of Quantum V / N speciality tractors
In addition, visitors to the CASE IH stand in Hall 6, Stand E 161 can look forward to a showpiece on Precision Farming. CASE IH experts will be providing information on the latest methods and recent experience in the field using various systems for precision farming.

Puma CVX – continuously variable up to 250 hp

The centrepiece of the tractor innovations is the new Puma CVX.
At the SIMA show, CASE IH will be presenting for the first time all five new models, ranging in power from 167 hp to 224 hp and a maximum power output of 251 hp.

The tractor range has been designed consistently for high performance, efficiency and comfort. It features the latest generation of CVX transmission from Case IH and new DKT double clutch technology.

The double clutch ensures optimum power transmission without ever interrupting the flow of power. The system maximises the efficiency of the tractor in all situations at the same time as greatly reducing fuel consumption.

In addition, the Puma CVX provides the driver with the most modern and comfortable working environment available. The new Surround Vision cab offers ideal all-round visibility and at just 69 dB is one of the quietest cabs on the market.

Moreover, the new Puma CVX series will be presented in Paris with a completely new developed control concept. The centre of the control concept is the latest Multicontroller and the new Intuitive Control Panel (ICP).

Quantum V&N - the new specialists for vineyards and orchards

Another recent development to be presented at the SIMA show is the new Quantum V & N models from CASE IH. This series consists of new speciality tractors for hybrid farming using the most modern engine technology and numerous new comfort features.

The QUANTUM V models with an overall width starting at 1,069 mm have been specially developed for operating in closely-planted vineyards. The wider QUANTUM N tractors with a width of 1,225 mm (minimum track width of rear wheels) are ideal for farming specialty crops and orchards.

The QUANTUM V range consists of four tractors; the 65V (65 hp), 75V (78 hp), 85V (88 hp) and 95V (97 hp), while the QUANTUM N range offers three tractors; the 75N (78 hp), 85N (88 hp) and 95N (97 hp).

Precision farming - practical applications in the field

In a special showcase exhibition at the SIMA show, CASE IH experts will be providing information on the applications of the CASE IH Advanced Farming System "AFS". For the 2009 season the Advanced Farming Systems from CASE IH have been equipped with new software that provide a considerable extension to the functions available. Harvest analysis, running cost statistics, seedbed preparation, plant protection and pest control can now be planned more precisely.
In addition, the software enables all field data, including harvest data, to be displayed on standardised aerial photos.
The new AFS Pro 600 monitor is designed for use in combines and tractors. It provides the capability of controlling vehicle settings, guidance systems and ISOBUS compatible equipment from a single unit. It also saves all data acquired from precision farming processes.

CASE IH will be presenting an extended range of guidance systems at the SIMA as well. These range from manual light-bar systems through steering support system to the AFS AccuGuide fully-automatic auto-guidance system.

Agri-Future 2020 - concepts for more efficient agriculture

CASE IH is looking for young farmers with visions and ideas - a pan-European competition for young farmers

Especially for young farmers throughout Europe, this is the first time that CASE IH has hosted the Agri-Future 2020 competition. Participants are asked to present their visions, ideas and concrete suggestions for making agriculture more efficient in 2020. Any farming theme can be chosen - from agricultural technology to plant science - farming crops or rearing livestock.

Prospective participants will find comprehensive information and application details on a website dedicated to the competition: www.agrifuture2020.eu. The competition starts on 20 February 2009 at the SIMA in Paris.
