Strong and powerful engines

The stronger, quieter and emissions compliant engines provide high power and torque across the working range. All models feature enhancements designed to lift power and improve overall durability. All the new tractors feature three cylinder engines, of 1,463cc and 1,498cc capacity in the two larger tractors and 1,123cc in the smaller models.

A tilting bonnet and removal side panels ease access for engine servicing and maintenance. Fuel tank capacity is 25 litres on the MF 1519 and MF 1523, which rises to 30 litres on the bigger models.

Manual or hydrostatic transmissions

A hydrostatic transmission is an option on all the MF 1500 tractors apart from the largest MF 1531, on which is standard. Operated with two pedals the hydrostatic unit provides an infinite speed control, without any steps, in two ranges on MF 1519 and MF 1523 and three ranges on the two larger machines.

The hydrostatic transmission further boosts the tractor's versatility, particularly for jobs such as mowing, where it can be used to aid manoeuvrability, when working in confined spaces or around obstructions.

The standard mechanical gearbox offers a total of six forward and two reverse speeds (in two ranges) on the two smaller models and nine forward and three reverse in the MF 1528.

PTO power options to suit all tasks

All new models in the MF 1500 Series with hydrostatic transmissions come equipped with a mid-mounted PTO (2,000rpm). MF recognises that mowing is likely to be a popular use for the hydro tractor and includes this PTO in the specification.

Rear-mounted PTO drive is 540rpm as standard on the all the tractors, as well as dual speed 1,000rpm on the MF 1528 Hydro and MF 1531. This level of basic specification helps widen the tractor's versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of work.

High flow hydraulics

All models are fitted with a Cat. 1 three-point linkage with a lift capacity of 540kg on the two smaller models and 1,100kg on the MF 1528 and MF 1531. Combined with high flowrate hydraulic pumps and spool valves the new tractors are ideally suited to powering all kinds of modern implements.

A strong, cast iron centre housing increases the length and combined with the longer wheelbase, powerful hydraulics and lift capacity the tractors provides a sturdy and stable platform for mounting equipment.

Comfort and convenience for operators

Operator comfort is top priority in the design of the new MF 1500s. The spacious platform provides comfort and convenience with well laid out controls and a new automotive style instrument panel. All levers are placed ergonomically to the left and right of the seat. The levers retain their sensible colour coding as found on the MF 1200 Series. The fully adjustable mechanical suspension seat ensures operators are always sitting in the most comfortable position.

Every effort has been made to cushion operators from noise and vibration, from a smoother, quieter engine to a moulded rubber floor mat and even special setscrews to tighten down the foldable ROPS frame.

MF 2400 now offers shuttle service

A new PowerShuttle option for the MF 2400 Utility tractors - from 66hp to 82hp - goes on show at Saltex for the first time. This feature further increases the versatility these light and agile machines can bring to a wide range of horticultural, groundscare and municipal applications.

The PowerShuttle is an option on all three MF 2400 Utility Series - the 66hp, MF 2430; 76hp, MF 2435 and 82hp MF 2440. All tractors are powered by four cylinder Perkins 800/4 engines.

The new system allows operators to change direction without using the clutch. This will be a boon for users in a wide range circumstances, particularly when mowing, using loaders or carrying out work that requires frequent manoeuvring in confined spaces.

The Power Shuttle lever is positioned on the left-hand side of the steering column, so operators can change direction while simultaneously operating implement or loader controls. The system's electro-hydraulic operation is 'modulated', which provides light and smooth direction changes.

The PowerShuttle option also includes an oil-immersed main drive clutch, which improves durability as well as providing maintenance and servicing advantages.

The SpeedShift transmission, which provides 30 speeds in both directions is included in the PowerShuttle package. This offers push-button, clutchless change in every gear - effectively doubling the number of available speeds from the 15/15 mechanical gearbox.

Valtra looks back to a better view

Valtra is one of very few tractor manufacturers to offer reverse drive as a factory-fitted option. This useful feature provides a much better view of side- and rear-mounted implements and is much prized by verge and roadside maintenance contractors.

On the AGCO stand for the first time is the 105hp, Valtra 6550 HiTech, equipped with the TwinTrac system for forward and reverse operation with a seat that, without requiring the driver to stand, swivels easily through 180°.

Valtra's unique TwinTrac system duplicates control pedals and a steering wheel at the rear of the cab. With the steering wheel placed on the right it is easy to control with one hand leaving the centre clear for an unobstructed view of the implement or, in some cases, for the implement controls. There is ample leg room for the driver and access remains excellent.

There is no compromise in working speeds because the Powershift transmission offers 36 speeds exactly matched for working forwards or backwards. There are three speeds in each gear that can be selected without the clutch. The Powershift speed changes are operated by Power Control System, which chooses and monitors the ideal change every time. The powershift gears are always shifted smoothly regardless of load.

High-tech Fendt features in compact package

Fendt tractors have a reputation for quality and sophistication that is the envy of the industry. And with its 200 S machines the company has managed to condense all its technology into a compact package, while still retaining the legendary comfort, efficiency and performance.

There are four models in the 200 S range:
Fendt 206 S - 65hp
Fendt 207 S - 75hp
Fendt 208 S - 86hp
Fendt 209 S - 95hp

From the front axle to the rear linkage and the hydraulics to the cab, these tractors really do set new standards. They are a 100% compact tractor but come with arguably the quietest cab, offering the best view in its class. The exceptionally low weight, innovative technology and unparalleled manoeuvrability are just some of innovations that combine a significant increase in productivity with small dimensions.

The hydraulic controls, for example, offer the highest specification found on any compact tractor. The system provides independent control, in simultaneous operation, of up to four electric proportional valves as well as the electronically controlled linkage with shock load stabilising. This allows a wide range of equipment to be fitted to the front, rear and mid positions.

Fendt 412 Vario - ultimate in comfort and control

Fendt's Vario continuously variable transmission (CVT) is proven in more than 30,000 units working in the field. The company started the CVT revolution and continues to still head developments.

The beauty of a Vario CVT transmission is it allows any forward speed to be set at any engine rpm. This ensures the forward speed always matches the job, ensuring the utmost quality of work, as well as conserving fuel consumption. The Vario uses a combination of hydraulic and mechanical power to transmit the drive. This system has far fewer losses than a fully hydrostatic transmission and unlike those units, it can be used for heavy draft work, hauling trailers etc. without slowing or loss of power to the wheels.

Long days in the tractor seat working on rough ground are not only tiring but can cause back pain for operators. But Fendt 400 Series operators are cushioned from shocks and jars thanks to the tractors front axle and cab suspension, along with the linkage's integral stabilising system.

With four models, from 86hp to 120hp, the Fendt 400 Varios provide ultimate performance for working in a range of conditions.

GC 2300 spells end to manual labour

The 22.5hp, GC 2300 multi-purpose sub-compact workhorse offers big tractor technology in a small package. Providing a superb combination of power, torque, hydraulic output and PTO versatility it is the perfect partner for a wide range of implements.

Mower decks, loaders and backhoes can be fitted to the GC 2300 in minutes, offering ultimate versatility. This wide range of 'Easy Fit' attachments combined with its compact dimensions means the GC 2300 is able to carry out work previously only achievable by hand - which will be a relief of many users!

The tractor measures just 2.48m long and has a minimum width of only 1.16m. But despite its diminutive dimensions this is a fully-fledged workhorse, offering all the features found on much larger machines, including four-wheel drive as standard.

The 22.5hp liquid cooled diesel engine provides the power and torque needed for hard work, while the two-speed hydrostatic transmission allows operators to set the exact speed for the job without any steps. Two separate pedals are used for forward and reverse, which makes for smooth and simple changes of direction when shuttling with a mower or using the loader. There is even a diff-lock for when the going gets really tough.

A Cat. 1 three-point linkage has a lift capacity of 1,190kg and with a pump output of 23.1 litres/min, there's plenty of flow and power for the implements. PTO specification is also high, with a 540rpm shaft at the rear as well as a 2,000rpm mid-mounted unit.

Operators have a spacious, semi-platform with an excellent control layout with colour-coded levers. A ROPS frame provides protection.

MF 2927D - much more than a mower

Powered by a 27hp Briggs & Stratton diesel engine, the MF 2927D professional utility tractor along with an optional powered collector, is an investment that continues to earn its keep long after the grass has stopped growing.

While the MF 2927D makes a superb mowing unit, it is a fully equipped versatile utility tractor with the features that enable it to carry a wide range of other work outside the season. Equipped with selectable two- or four-wheel drive, a rear 540rpm PTO, two spool valves and linkage as standard, this is more than just a mower.

The hydrostatic transmission, operated with separate pedals for forwards and reverse, provides an infinite range of speeds without steps in both directions. Standard cruise control sets the speeds and makes the machine even easier to use.

Two spool valves are standard and these are controlled by a superb multi-function joystick, fitted conveniently to the dash, which offers precise control of all the tractor's hydraulic functions.

For mowing is a 1.37m wide deck with hydraulic lift and electronic adjustment of the deck angle, as well electric height of cut adjust allowing operators to switch from paddock to fine turf in seconds. All decks have a quick attach system for easy fitting and removal, and are fitted with a roller for a classic striped finish.

Further options include a 1.37m wide mulching kit as well as a powered collector, which also has a high-tip version to ease emptying into trucks and trailers.

Outside the busy mowing season, the MF 2927D just keeps going. With its 200kg lift capacity three-point linkage, along with standard independent rear and mid-mounted PTOs (as well as optional front PTO) the tractor has the facilities to power a wide range of implements such as sweepers, snow blowers, front loaders and chippers.

MF 420/430 FC - the professional's choice

Superb cutting performance in a wide range of conditions, even the longest, most lush grass is provided by the MF 420 and MF 430 front-cut mowers. With a rugged build and high quality decks these machines, which come with optional collectors, offer high performance mowing in fine parkland right up to maintaining roadside verges.

Powered by a 23hp water-cooled diesel, the MF 420 FC can be equipped with either 1,220mm or 1,370mm side discharge cutting decks. The 33hp MF 430 FC has a 33hp water cooled diesel and 1,524mm or 1,830mm decks. Both machines have hydraulic mower lift systems with integral weight transfer and come with the option of rear discharge decks and collection systems

Both machines are equipped with two-range, hydrostatic transmissions with individual pedals for forward and reverse. This provides superb control and eases manoeuvrability when working in confined spaces or around park furniture and other obstructions.

MF 220RD: A professional mower for a quality cut

The MF 220RD is a professional diesel mower capable of producing high outputs and a quality finish day after day. This 24hp machine, built on a robust and proven chassis, is designed specifically to meet the exacting demands of a wide range of users in the groundscare industry.

The 24hp three-cylinder diesel provides plenty of power to drive the mowing deck, but also ensure the machine maintains the optimum forward speed, regardless of the conditions.

Heart of this professional mower is the cutting deck, which cuts cleanly and efficiently, leaving a finish of which to be proud. There is a choice of cutting widths - 1,220mm or 1,370mm. The free floating decks are ideal for a wide range of work, particularly local authority and roadside verge use, with the rear discharge useful in preventing the need to clear mown material from pavements. For a completely clean and clear finish is an optional powered collector, which further extends the MF 220RD's working season by becoming an efficient leaf collector in the autumn.

Adjusting the height of the cutting platform is achieved simply using the electro-hydraulic lift. Six settings allow operators to always select the right height to suit the job, leaving the best finish.

Two pedals, one for forward and the other reverse, provide simple operation of the responsive hydrostatic transmission. This offers infinitely variable speed control, between 0.16-8km/hr forwards, allowing operators to always work at the optimum speed for the job to produce a quality finish. Reverse speeds of between 0-10km/hr are selected by pressing another pedal that helps to reduce the time needed to manoeuvre the mower and turn in confined areas. Powerful wet brakes slow the machine safely and reliably.

MF AgTVs built for hard work

Unlike other, leisure-based, quad bikes the MF AgTV range is built with hard work in mind. Powerful single cylinder four-stroke engines provide plenty of torque at low revs, making them ideal for towing and other difficult jobs.

All the AgTV range come with adaptable Multi-Rack Platform (MRP) carriers that help users to transport of tools and materials safely and conveniently. A full range of MRP accessories, further enhances the vehicles' versatility.

The MF 500 TBX, on show at Saltex, is equipped with a heavy-duty, tipping body with removable rear door. This useful cargo carrier, which has a payload capacity of 136kg, tilts to nearly 45° enabling loads to be carried safely and loose material tipped exactly where it's required.

All models have fully independent suspension, which smoothes out the roughest terrain and provides class-leading ground clearance up to 254mm. Safe operation is ensured by front and rear disc brakes, operated by a single lever which combines with engine braking for sure stopping even on the steepest slops. When working on varying terrain operators will also appreciate the selectable two- or four-wheel drive.
