With the presentation of a New Equipment Award for its Dyna-6 transmission at the UK's Royal Show last week, Massey Ferguson is celebrating the latest in a series of European farm machinery industry accolades for its totally transformed tractor product line-up.

The new Dyna-6 transmission available on the MF 6400 tractor range won the Tractors and Transport category of the RASE's New Equipment Awards, open to all new equipment that incorporates innovative ideas.

Dyna-6 is the next generation of semi-powershift transmissions. Building on the proven features of MF's renowned Dynashift transmission, it provides six speeds - rather than the four in the normal Dynashift unit - giving a much wider speed band in which to work and therefore maximising output. Simplicity of operation is one of its key attributes. The judging panel cited Dyna-6 as a major evolutionary step in transmission technology - highly relevant to the needs of today's tractor operators focused on optimum productivity.

The Royal Show New Equipment award adds further to Massey Ferguson's collection of prestigious industry prizes presented over more than two years. Among these are European Tractor of the Year 2005 for the MF 8480 and Specialist Tractor of the Year award for the MF 3400 Series (both presented at Italy's EIMA show), together with the Machine of the Year award 2004 for the MF 7400 Dyna-VT as voted by journalists from one of Germany's leading farming publishers.

“This latest award is yet another signal that Massey Ferguson is the brand to watch,” says Declan Hayden, Massey Ferguson Vice-President Marketing, Europe, Africa and Middle East.   “In the last two years, we have completely replaced our product line with new tractors in every horsepower category. Our awards have come for machines across the board clearly illustrating the sheer strength that permeates the full breadth of our range and reflecting our position as a truly global brand.”

“We are extremely pleased to receive recognition for our innovative engineering through industry awards but even more gratified to see the products now proving themselves in the field. Farmers are telling us they are delighted with the performance of their new MF models, and feedback shows high levels of customer satisfaction,” he says.

Massey Ferguson's Dyna-6 transmission provides 24-forward and 24-reverse speeds using four range gears and six Dynashift ratios. The four ranges are fully-synchronised for smooth engagement and, after starting the tractor, there is no further need to use the clutch to change any speeds or direction. Six speeds in each gear can be changed under load simply by moving a lever. Gear ratios can be selected without using the clutch by pressing a button on the armrest-mounted lever and moving it backwards and forwards.

The New Equipment Award was presented to Massey Ferguson's Ben Agar at the Royal Show by the RASE (Royal Agricultural Society of England) President, the Rt. Reverend Anthony Russell, Bishop of Ely.
