Quentin & Anne Stevick run about 170 cows on 960 acres of
rolling land in Pincher Creek, Alberta; and grow most of the
feed. This is very fertile land, but with harsh winter conditions,
and a short growing season.
At Bar 15 Ranch they use almost exclusively their own bloodlines.
They use one or two new AI sires each year to have a benchmark
for their own bulls and to introduce some new genetics.
About 25% of the herd is made up of Fullblood Simmental cows
bred to Fullblood Simmental bulls. The same with the Purebred
Angus cows; both Red and Black; they make up about 25% of the
herd and are bred AI to Angus bulls.
The Bar 15 Simmentals/ Stevick Angus Ranch and Guests 29th Annual
Production Sale is on December 7th, 2001 at Highwood Livestock
Auction.
